Are You Changing So Others Will Like You – Or Is It Finally Time to Change for Yourself?


Liv looked at the screen. The very next sentence had her pinned down:


“We live our lives as if they were our number one enemy. How many times have I asked myself, ‘What’s stopping me from making a change, just to feel better?’ And then that cowardly whisper inside me says, ‘You’re tired, not today.’ But do you know what that really is? Fear. Fear of our own strength.”


“We’d rather peer into other people’s lives, hoping they’ll change, than dare to face our own truth. We pretend that everything is fine, that life’s ups and downs are ‘normal.’ But when dissatisfaction, worry, and restlessness become a daily habit – it’s not normal. Looking inward feels like jumping without a parachute. But that jump? It’s the only thing that sets you free.”


“We twist, bend, and betray for others. We adapt our words, our opinions, even our skin – just to be seen, just to be wanted. But when will you finally want to be seen for yourself? When will you be important enough to yourself to say: ‘I am important – to myself’?”


From today – I put myself first! This is where I draw the line. I value myself and stand by my beliefs – and that alone makes me valuable. Even if I am not important to others, I will remain true to myself. I refuse to be someone else’s victim – or my own. I will survive because I am true to myself!


The woman’s proud words ended. Liv remained frozen for a moment longer, still processing in her mind what she had just heard.




The End and a New Beginning


A new beginning: it all starts with you.

Not tomorrow. Not when others notice. Not when life seems easier.

Now. Here. With you.


  • Recognize the thoughts that keep repeating, holding you back and trapping you in old habits – pause and ask yourself: ‘Is this the truth, or is it just fear speaking?’ Then take even the smallest possible step.

  • Remember a moment when you felt unwavering strength. Hold on to it. That power is still yours.

  • Write down three things you will do today just for yourself. Small or big, it doesn’t matter – they are yours.


Because you spend more time with yourself than with anyone else. So love yourself before you wait for others to see you. Take charge of your happiness – people come and go, but you stay.


Be your own friend. That’s where freedom begins.
